We learned a bit about Mexican Tree Bark Art recently when a customer brought in these brightly colored pieces. Called Amate, this art medium is a paper made from bark in a process that dates back to the pre-European Aztecs. The intensely coloured inks contrast vividly with the drably hued papers. These pieces each measure about 22″ wide by 30″ high. We used a deep natural wood moulding and neutral mats. We mounted the artwork on top of the mats and used spacers to keep the glass off the artwork. Muy Bien!
