Recently we framed this old portrait, it is tiny and printed on some sort of porcelain! The porcelain only measures about 3" x 4" (the entire frame only measures about 7" x 8"!) so we used a small bluish linen mat and a small Italian moulding that has a repeating design. This nice little pair of old hand-coloured engravings was in some less than desirable frames (shall we say!) We took those old frames oof and threw them as far as we could. Set of Four Antique Land Plats, Some Framed Front and Back!
This was a fun little job, a dear client allowed us to frame some old (I mean OLD! One is from 1829) land plats and deeds. We sandwiched them between two acid-free rag mats (no adhesives) and glassed them front and back. A deep hand-finished Italian distressed moulding completes the job.
