This is a fabulous map, a reprint for an 1872 edition. This was done on heavy paper with good inks, makes a nice framed piece. And it is LARGE! it measures about 45" x 35". Nice Olive Wood Frame on Map!
Recently we had a customer come in with a map of St. Lucia for his wife's anniversary present. Apparently the sixth anniversary is the Wood Anniversary (who knew?) and he wanted a wood frame (we have those!) We picked this particular wooden frame as it has insane texture! Antique Maps from 1883 and 1865
We enjoyed framing these two antique maps for a client. The South Carolina map is from 1883 and still has vivid coloring! a few tears and dings, but, then, it is 130 years old. We celebrated the tears and dings by top mounting it on the acid -free board and then using spacers to hold the glass off the map. This big thing measures about 43" x 35".
